The Land of Nod Recalls "Rosebud" Drop-Side Cribs

The cribs were solds at The Land of Nod retail stores and online at www.landofnod.com from January 2003 through September 2004 for about $600.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada have announced a voluntary recall of some phil & ted's USA jogging strollers.  Apparently, a consumer's finger could become caught in the hinge, posing amputation and laceration hazards.

First, baby rattles by Kid O, due to a possible choking hazard.


Also, teething rings by Calisson with were sold on Amazon.  View a picture here.  The problem: possible ingestion hazard.


Lastly, toy mobile phones by Discovery are being recalled due to a potential choking hazard.

Government Bans Sale of Drop-Side Cribs

The government is outlawing drop-side cribs after the deaths of more than 30 infants and toddlers in the past decade, according to the Associated Press.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has voted unanimously to ban the manufacture, sale and re-sale of the cribs, which have a side rail that moves up and down, allowing parents to more easily lift their child from the crib.

This morning, The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued several voluntary recalls.

 

According to the CPSC, the reins on this horse-on-a-stick toy could wrap around a child's neck and pose a strangulation hazard.

Cribs Recalled For Safety Risks

Three U.S. companies recalled more than 40,000 cribs on Friday due to safety concerns raised by six child injuries, according to an Associated Press report.

The recalled Ethan Allen, Angel Line and Victory Land Heritage Collection 3-in-1 cribs have drop-sides that can detach due to faulty hardware or wear and tear, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This can create a gap where young children can be trapped or suffocated.

Graco Stroller Recall

The deaths of four infants has prompted a major stroller recall.  According to the The Consumer Product Safety Commission, popular baby gear manufacturer, Graco, is recalling 2 million of it's Quattro and Metrolite strollers.

Risk of entrapment and strangulation prompted this voluntary recall.

These strollers were sold at Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, Kmart, Sears, Target and other stores nationwide between November 2000 and December 2007.

Only products with the letters "KN" following the Better If Used Before Date are included in the recall. "
