How to Become a Big Kid

tying shoes.jpgOK, with Crocs, Moon Boots and Light-Up Skechers, it's REALLY easy to forget to teach your kids how to tie shoes.  I know this quaint fact because I forgot.  Sam and I embarked on a few lace lessons yesterday...and I found myself running to the computer to Google catchy little rhymes and poems to help us...I mean, him.  We liked this one.

Click here to learn a cute "Bunny Ears" Rhyme!

Also, when Sam learned to ride a two-wheeler (I didn't forget to teach him that), I found myself looking for online advice, too.  Obviously, I know to hang onto the seat and run like hell (thanks, Dad)...but I wondered if there were any hidden secrets for success.

Somebody told us to start Sam on a grassy slope, instead of the road.  Then, he could get a sense of balance and momentum in a safe environment.  This worked well.

Good luck out there!  And don't forget to lace up your running shoes!
